DNA fingerprinting

In 1984, Alec Jeffreys discovered DNA fingerprints in Leicester, England, because X-ray films of his tests first revealed this possibility. Then he realized that it could be DNA-based biological identification, because each person has a unique DNA profile. However, this result was only a random result of Jeffreys’ research on genetic markers through families to understand hereditary patterns of the disease.
