  • Lewis M (Adison) Terman was a U.S.psychologist who pioneered individual intelligence tests.
  • During WW I, he was involved in mass testing of intelligence for the U.S. army.
  • He expanded an English version of the French Binet-Simon intelligence test with which he introduced the IQ (Intelligence Quotient), being a ratio of chronological age to mental age times 100.
